12 Wonderful Reasons Why Jesus Came

Christmas season is a special season which always comes with a very special and unique feelings. These special feelings are not what really makes Christmas special, Jesus is the one who makes Christmas special. Getting carried away by these feelings has caused many to be misled. Many have made wrong decisions and choices during Christmas when carried away and overwhelmed by the feelings. As a result of this, many live in regrets today for allowing their feelings lead them the wrong way.

Christmas makes sense and becomes meaningful only when we know and understand the reasons for Christmas. If we don’t understand the central figure of Christmas and His purpose for coming, then our celebrations are merely religious celebration. They don’t have meaning without Jesus and would end up killing more lives that should live.

Our Celebrations Don’t Make Christmas Meaningful And Fun-Fill

No man can do anything to make Christmas more meaningful than Jesus had made it. What all men need to do is to find out the meaning that Jesus had already given this season. Until we understand His meaning of Christmas we will never enjoy all the blessings the season brings with it.

Reasons why Jesus came

The celebrations we do, the eating and drinking, putting on new clothes and all the fun are not what make Christmas. Only Jesus makes Christmas. All our celebrations, eating and drinking, putting on new clothes, and all the fun have no meaning if we don’t know the Person of Jesus. We need to understand the reasons for His coming.

I want to help you enjoy your Christmas and make this the best Christmas to you ever. That’s why I’m sharing with you 12 wonderful reasons why Jesus came. What I’m about to share with you is very liberating and I know will gladden your heart and stir your spirit for the gospel of Christ.

1. Jesus came to give life.

“………. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

This is my number one reason of why Jesus came. Many of us think Jesus Christ came just to die for our sins and to bring forgiveness but He came for a greater purpose than that. Dying for our sins is not the main reason for His coming but had to die in order for Him to be able to achieve His purpose. Jesus came to give life and to give it in abundance.
All men were dead spiritual, so, He came up with plan to come and give life to the dead men.

Men live in and enjoy sin only when they are dead to God. That was the state of Man which made Jesus come to rescue him. When a man is born again he receives not just forgiveness of sin but much more than that, he receives life, eternal life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV

Reasons why Jesus came, merry Christmas

Jesus came that men may have life by believing in and receiving Him. When you receive Jesus you receive salvation, eternal life, remission of sin, deliverance from bondage to sin and from the devil all at the same time. The question now is, have you received JESUS, it’s because of you He came that you may come out spiritual death and have life, the very life of God.

2. Jesus came to make us sons of God.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name John 1:12 KJV

When you believe and receive JESUS, you become a child of God because you receive His very life. Receiving eternal life is what makes a man a child of God. You become one with God when you receive His life. This is the second reason why Jesus came. You don’t receive eternal life to remain a child of the devil, no, you automatically become a child of God.

If you are born again, you are a legal child of God and is in every way like Him. You are the one who has been created in the image of God not the man who is not yet born again. It is important that you have this understanding and walk with this consciousness. You don’t become born again to become fatherless, no! God becomes your Father the moment you identify with Him by receiving Jesus Christ Who He hath sent.

3. Jesus came to make us New Creation by giving us righteousness and making us the righteousness of God.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Christmas

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:17‭, ‬19‭-‬19‭, ‬21 KJV

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV

When a man is born again, he receives the gift of righteousness at new birth. After receiving this gift he becomes transformed and becomes the righteousness of God. We have gone beyond having righteousness as a gift and now have it as our nature because it is the nature of our Father. Jesus came to make us the righteousness of God. This is what it means to be a new creation: it means you are no longer a sinner but the righteousness of God. Jesus has given us the very nature of God, today, we are without sin because of what He had accomplished for us. Hallelujah!

4. Jesus came to make us heirs of God.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:16‭-‬17 NKJV

See what great blessings the coming of Jesus has brought. Every Child of God is an heir of God and joint heirs with Christ. This is what Jesus has done for us. You have inheritance in God with other saints of God. The beautiful thing about this is this, no one has more than the other, it all depends on how much you are ready to take possession of.

5. He came to give us victory over the devil and help us live a victorious life.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4‭-‬5 KJV

Before Jesus came, the devil held the whole world captive as the prince of the world at the time. He was in charge and controls men as he wills. No ordinary person could stand against the devil’s wish successfully, men had to live under him because Adam sold us all to him. But the coming of Jesus changed the whole story, he brought to us unquestionable dominion and victory over the devil, all powers of darkness, all life’s challenges, sin and sickness. He doesn’t just give us and established our dominion and victory, He is also helping us everyday to live a victorious life that will make the devil, his angels, and challenges remain subject to us.

We are born of God and so have overcome the world without anyone being able to question our victory. Everyone who is not born again is living a life of defeat without knowing because victory is only in and through Jesus alone.

6. Jesus came that we might have peace.

He came as the Prince of peace so that everyone who receives Him can have peace abiding in him or her.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Jesus is the only Prince of peace; when you have Him you have peace. If you don’t have Jesus, your life will be full of troubles and chaos.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 KJV

The reason many people don’t have peace is because they don’t have Jesus who is the Prince of peace live in them to give them peace. Some who have the Prince of peace don’t live with the consciousness of what they have. There are also those who have refused to allow the Prince of peace Who is living in them carry out His work and ministry in their lives. These are some of the reasons many live in and with different troubles and in unrest everyday.
You can only find peace in Jesus, not in women nor in womanising; not in having different men. Money doesn’t give peace. Alcohol doesn’t give peace. Sex doesn’t give peace. The only place you can find peace is in Christ Jesus, that’s why Christians are people of peace because we are full of peace.

7. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

He didn’t come to empower people to sin and stand against God, He came to destroy all works of the devil.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 KJV

The works of the devil includes the following: sin, sickness, confusion, diseases, failure, poverty, cancer, diabetes, blood disease, premature death, fear, bitterness, pride, loneliness, etc. You can include all the ones you know here. Everything that does not bring God glory are all works of the devil which Jesus came to destroy. Jesus had destroyed them all and they no longer have power of any man.

8. Jesus came to give us divine health.

God’s desire for His children is not for them to be healed but to live in divine health. Healing is for babes; divine health is for the matured children of God. This is what Jesus says;

The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” Mark 7:26‭-‬27 NKJV

A woman came seeking healing for her demon possessed daughter and Jesus told her, “it is not right to take the bread that belongs to children and give to dogs, children should eat first and be filled.” He is referring to healing as bread here which children need to eat and be filled. To be needing healing as a child of God shows you are a baby and God wants you to grow up. This is one of the reason why Jesus came, not really to give you healing but divine health.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 NKJV

God wants you to be in health that’s why He sent Jesus. Are you living in health or you’re still looking for healing?

9. Jesus came to make us the light of the world and answers to the questions of billions of people.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 NKJV

We are the answer the world is searching for today, we are the solutions to their problems and their only hope. God has made us blessings to our world.

10. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost.

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10 KJV

Jesus didn’t come for the righteous, he came for sinners – to seek and to save them. No man who thinks he is righteous because of what he does needs Jesus. He didn’t come for men like that, He came for the lost that’s why the Scribes and the Pharisees called Him friend of sinners.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. Matthew 11:18‭-‬19 KJV

And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2:16‭-‬17 KJV

11. Jesus came to make us saviours of the world.

“………… As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” John 20:21 NKJV

Jesus is sending you and I out as saviours to go and save souls from going to hell. He sent us as deliverers and rescue agents. We have been sent by Jesus as peace makers between the God and sinners.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18‭-‬19 NKJV

This is our ministry now as God’s children, this is the reason we can’t keep quiet. If we choose to be quiet many souls would go to hell, many won’t find the way to God. Our world is in dire need of the Gospel of Christ today and we are the only hope of billions of people hearing this gospel. We are the only chance they have to hear it and we must go about preaching it. This is why Jesus came, to make us saviours after saving us.

12. Jesus came to prepare the way and God’s children for the coming and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. John 16:7 KJV

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16‭-‬17 KJV

The Holy Spirit couldn’t come until Jesus comes first. Jesus came to reveal the Holy Spirit and prepare the children of God for His coming. Today, Holy Spirit is God’s greatest blessing to His children but that wouldn’t have been possible had Jesus not come first to save us.
Jesus is God’s precious gift to the whole world but the Holy Spirit is the Father’s precious gift to all His children. The sinners don’t need the Holy Spirit, what they need is Jesus. Only those who have been made righteous can receive the Holy Spirit as a gift from our Father.

In Conclusion

These are the 12 wonderful reasons why Jesus came. It is now our responsibility to live as His witness. He had made us His witness and we must tell the whole world this wonderful story. This is the best story there is to tell today; the story of the One who came to save sinners. The Saviour who came to make peace between us and God.
Are you born again? Live the life of the Son of God, a live of righteousness, peace, joy in the Holy Ghost, and victory over all powers of darkness.

You are a light in the darkness, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Don’t live for yourself, live for Jesus.

Let the thoughts of Jesus fill your heart all through the this Christmas season and let it control your actions and activities.

I wish you Merry Christmas, and Happy Prosperous and Victorious New Year.
