The Righteousness of God
God is righteous but has has chosen to reveal His righteousness in His children. Christians are the righteousness of God today. Who are the Christians? Christians are born again believers those who have confessed Jesus to be the Lord of their lives. It is in Christians that God is revealing His righteousness today. This is why Christians are the righteousness of God. Are you born again? That means you are a Christian and if you are a Christian, you are righteous.
Why Christians Are Not Sinners
Christians are new creation and the children of God. God lives today in His children, the Christians. We are the home of God, His place of residence. Since God who is righteous now lives in men who are called by His name, these men can’t be less than righteous.
God doesn’t live in unrighteousness and because of this, He doesn’t live in sinners. Sinners are the unrighteous men and women. God in His children is what makes the children righteous.
It is in us and through us that God is revealing His righteousness to the world today. Hence, we are the exact representation of God.
Who Is A Christian?
The Christian is an in-Christ man, he is not just anybody, but a person who is in Christ. Christians don’t since and the reason Christians don’t sin is because they are in Christ. There’s no sin in Christ, but righteousness and everyone who is in Christ has that nature of righteousness.
The Christian Is A New Creation
Everyone who is in Christ is a new creature according to scriptures. There’s no past records of wrongs for him because he’s a new being entirely. I know most churches or denominations will find it hard to believe this truth especially the religious folks.
Christians are the people who believe in what Christ had done through His suffering, death, and resurrection. They are the people who confess Jesus Christ to be the Lord of their lives. Christians are also people who believe in the Holy Spirit, receive Him and walk with Him. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Christians are not sinners, no Christian is a sinner, all of us are righteous. This is very important, no sinner is a christian just the way no Christian can be a sinner. Most important, the Christian is not one who was once a sinner, never, the word of God calls the Christian a new creature. If he is a new creature which is actually who he is, then he has no past.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
Enjoy The Blessing Of Righteousness
Take advantage of the new life you have in Christ. Enjoy the blessing of new creation by walking in righteousnes. How to do enjoy this blessing?
The very first thing you must do to enjoy the blessings in God’s words is to put aside religious mindset. Religious mind is always an obstacle and hindrance to enjoy God’s best. Religious people can’t enjoy the righteousness of God, they always wants to do something to earn it. You can never be earned righteousness, you can only be given by receiving Christ.
If you want to enjoy the righteousness of God, believe the word like a baby and just do the word. Do not try to do anything to be righteous or be more righteous, that will never work. All you need to do is believe in the finished work of Jesus and confess His Lordship over your life.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10 NKJV
God Has Made You Righteous
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 NKJV
For He hath Made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him—2 Cor. 5:21
Romans 5:8 says while ‘we were yet sinners’ not while ‘we are still sinners’, this refers to the whole world. The whole world was dead to God and very much alive to sin. Since was the nature of Man before the coming of Christ, because of this man couldn’t do without sinning. The apostle is making a point clear here; while we were: he’s referring to both Jews and Gentiles.
The Jews had the Oracle of God, the law. They had covenant with God while the Gentiles were strangers with no covenant with God. The law that the Jews had could not make them right with God. At this time, both the Jews and Gentiles were the same when it comes to righteousness. The reason is that, the law couldn’t make anyone righteous, it was only given to reveal to men their unrighteousness.
God, knowing that the law can’t make anyone righteous, sent Jesus Christ His Son to come and make men righteous.
How God Made Us Righteous
The way God achieved His great plan of making man right with Him was through the substitution process. Christ became our substitute by taking our place so that we can take His place. He became sinner so that all of us can become righteous. Christ was purnished in our place, crucified in our place, died in our place, and was buried in our place.
When Jesus went to the cross, He went with the sins of the whole world, at that time, the whole world had no sin anymore. This was when sin was completely dealt with. All sins have been taken away but with still live with the consciousness of sin everyday. You Were Born With Righteousness
When Jesus said it is finished on the cross before He gave up the ghost what He actually meant is, sin is finished.
Why Do Many Still Live In Unrighteousness?
Despite what God has done for us in Christ, many still live in unrighteousness. A lot of people have not taken advantage of God’s plan for man in and through Christ.
Jesus had taken all our sins away but there are still many sinners in the world, why? The reason is because many people have not believed in what Christ have done to make men righteous. Some due to ignorance, while others by out rightly denying Christ.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
He (Jesus) was made sin for us, meaning He took the place of sinful men. The only One who had no sin and had never sin became a sinner for all men, for the whole world. See what great sacrife He paid and made Himself to be for us. All our sins were laid on Jesus, He carried all our sins on Him without leaving any and by becoming sin for all.
He went through the punishment of sins we were supposed to go through. Christ took our place by taking our sins on Himself, was punished and died in our place. Jesus took our place, the place of sinners so that we can take His place of righteousness.
There Is No Condemnation For You
Because of who Christians are, and because of what Christ have done, they can’t be condemned by any man or woman. The Christians are beyond condemnation from any man. We have taken the former and nature of Christ which is nature of righteousness. Is there anything to accuse the righteous of? Absolutely, nothing!
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit—Romans 8:1
The moment a man comes into Christ, He receives righteousness not just as a gift, but most importantly, as a life and nature. To the one who needs salvation, righteousness is a gift, but to the Christian, the new creation, righteousness is a life and a nature.
There is no condemnation and no punishment for you who is in Christ because you are a righteous man without a past.
What The Word Says
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:31-34)
Jesus Christ died for the sins the of the whole world, he didn’t die for the righteous, meaning He didn’t die for Christians. No man needs to die for himself, a man can die for others but not for himself. Jesus didn’t die for Himself, He died for sinners.
Jesus Christ The End Of All Curses
Christians are in Christ and are righteous, meaning Christ didn’t die for Christians. Jesus died for sinners and was raised back to life for the justification of all who were dead in sin. We have been justified and declared righteous by God. We are completely free from the consequences of sin.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new — 2 Corinthians 5:17
You are free from curses because you are a new creature, you have the very life and nature of God now. It doesn’t matter anymore what evil your ancestors have done that is still hunting members of your family, once you are born again, that evil will not have any negative effect on you. You have been justified and set free from every consequences of sin.
Be conscious of who you are in Christ and walk in the righteousness you have. You are not a sinner if you are in Christ, not because you go to church regularly but because you live in Christian. There’s that Father and son relationship between you and God which has made you one with God. Be conscious of that righteousness, stop being sin conscious, stop being curse conscious you live in Christ, above all curses and enchantement. You are blessed of God, He has lavished His blessings on you, see only the blessings. See Romans 5:8-17.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Say these words: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus because I’m born of God. I have in me the same righteousness God is and has. There is no judgment and no condemnation for me because I am born of God and have been justified. I cannot be cursed and no curse can work against me because I’m a new creature with the very life of God in me. Eternal life is at work in me because the same life that Jesus has is in me. I am a tree of righteousness, I walk in righteousness and I do works of righteousness because as Christ is in heaven so am I in this world.
Refuse to allow any one condemn you, because you are beyond condemnation. You are not a sinner if you are in Christ. Do not allow anyone talk you out of the righteousness that is of God which you are and have now. Think righteousness, talk righteousness and allow the thoughts of righteousness dominate you. You are God’s righteousness!
